Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative

Today, challenge yourself to choose one negative thought you’ve had over the past year and really question it.

Why do you feel this way? Where did you get this idea? Is it imaginary or something real? If it’s real, how can you overcome it?

Often, our minds can play tricks on us and get us to believe something that we’ve made up in our own minds: thinking our boss doesn’t like us, thinking we don’t look nice in a new outfit, the list goes on and on.

Today, stop and evaluate just one of these thoughts.

If a friend thought this same thing about themselves, would you have a good rebuttal? If so, apply this same logic to your own situation.

Ask yourself if you’re assuming the worst or blaming yourself for something that was never yours to hold on to from the beginning.

If you can declutter your mind of one thing today, that is some major progress.
