Be mindful of your mind
You might’ve heard the term “mindfulness” around before but it’s a lot more than a passing fad.
Mindfulness is a state of being. Meaning the ability to be fully aware moment-to-moment, which is tougher than it sounds in the modern age.
Think about it: you fold laundry while trying to keep an eye on the kids. You work while checking your phone. You try to listen to the radio while also focusing on traffic during your morning commute.
There are few times when we are really all focused on one single thing.
Today, challenge yourself to be mindful of your mindfulness. If this is new to you, go online and spend a few minutes learning about mindfulness exercises and how you can bring them into your own life.
Many mindfulness techniques have been shown to improve physical health as well as the obvious mental benefits.
To get you started, try this:
Sit quietly and focus on your natural breathing or on a single word of peace or inspiration. Allow your thoughts to come and go without any judgment of them, and return to your focus.
